  1. We have 110 v electric power supply; you will therefore have no trouble recharging the batteries of your computer, cell phone or digital camera. Bear in mind the fact that most sockets accommodate two-pin plugs.
  2. The cell phone service works, although with some difficulty. However, there are pay phones.
  3. There is a primary health centre and an emergency service form Angra dos Reis.
  4. There are no chemist’s shops.
  5. Although it is a very safe place, it is always good to take care of your belongings.
  6. Car circulation is not allowed in Ilha Grande. You will thus need to walk a lot. It is a good idea to pack comfortable footwear such as trainers and sandals.
  7. There are no banks or cash withdrawal machines, so you will be unable to withdraw any money. However, most places, including our inn, accept credit cards.
  8. Remember to pack a mackintosh in your suitcase; there are occasional tropical downpours in the evening.
